Santa Ana Art Show Blue Lot

These photos are from an art show which my brother Brian Enright was showing some of his stuff at. First off, I want to apologize to any featured artists who see this post and do not see their art displayed here or enough photos of themselves or who don’t even see themselves in this post period! I was not actually covering the event. I was simply there for my brother, so I wasn’t inclined to capture the event in its entirety, I just snapped pictures for him to use on his website, facebook etc. If you want to download any of the photos you see here for free, simply add me on Facebook, open the picture in my album and click the Download link on the left.
That being said, this was also my first opportunity to try out my new Canon Ring Flash! First impressions are favorable. It has plenty of power for portraits like I was shooting below and for some shots it even gave a nice, natural looking vignette effect. I noticed that most of my photos was oversaturated when I reviewed them, but that’s easy enough to correct and sometimes desireable for shooting artwork (in my opinion).
But enough about the gear! This event was about the art, and there was some crazy art here. I think the people who stood out the most were those with the alien artwork and crafts. I was kinda blown away by their display. Oh, and the spraypaint artist was pretty badass as well since he was doing requests live, just whipping out his stencils and creating magic right there! That’s not to take away from the other artisans at all, they were all very good in their own right. And of course my brother’s art got alot of attention as it usually does due to its unique nature. Few have witnessed the power of the Audio Frame before, but many were willing to hook their phone up to the speakers and rock out right there in the gallery…it was pretty cool.
Can’t wait for the next art show! Maybe someone will hire me to cover it? hint hint
